Cosmetic Surgery or A Short Daily Exercise Routine – Which One Should You Choose to Get Rid of Double Chin Fat?

Two opposing camps exist on the face rejuvenation front. One camp wants to encourage you to spend large amounts of money to ‘fix your face.’ These are the cosmetic surgeons, and liposuction centers, some with easy walk-in, walk-out services. They offer instant gratification. After a short period of healing (depending on the procedure performed) you’re new chin, nose, skin will be revealed to the world. But quick isn’t cheap, and you may not want to take that route, especially if the expense is hard to justify. What other options are there?

We’ve all heard it takes as more muscles to frown than it does to smile, but when you look in the mirror and see a sagging lackluster face, it doesn’t seem like there are fewer muscles needed to smile. So, what can you do if you want your face to shape up? Plenty of so-called experts will advise this product or that product – but can putting something onto your face really make any difference?

On the facial rejuvenation spectrum, the two opposing parties are exercises that get rid of facial fat, costing you nothing but your time, patience and dedication, against the cosmetic transformation industry run by countless prosperous plastic surgeons and liposuction centers. Some even offering walk-in, walk-out service, claiming that you can get rid of double chin fat and saggy cheeks almost immediately. Naturally, they would appeal to those who have a heavier wallet and who already accustomed to buying their way through life. But if you are not one of those people, how do you decide which way to go?

The supposed advantage of surgery is that you can get rid of the annoying aspect of your body almost immediately, as long as you have the money. However, who hasn’t heard of the horror stories and seen the shocking pictures of celebrities who are looking more and more recyclable every time they step out? Who doesn’t know of someone who’s been there and done that? Went in expecting to look better and came out looking worse. Even the wealthiest consumer may end up in an expensive legal battle with their surgeon because they’re dissatisfied with their collapsing or unalterably ruined new, but not improved, visage.

Truth be told, surgical procedures are effective, much of the time. Unfortunately, while there is no guarantee that it will work, as flawless surgery is often reserved for truly wealthy who can afford the most expensive plastic surgeons, who charge upwards of $10K and more every time they take their scalpel out. It’s not for the likes of us regular folk.

To combat this, something too good to be true has risen. It involves minutes of exercise, (if it can be called that) a day and results that you control. The only investment you make is your own time. Welcome to the ring, the most natural way to rebuild your profile and jaw line, facial exercises!

Facial fitness is not a new concept. The yogi’s have been practicing it for centuries. Professional singers have great facial musculature and high cheek bones even when they are overweight, simply because they are constantly giving their facial muscles a work-out. We unwittingly alter, shape and mold our faces with every frown, squint or yawn or twitch we do. The trick is to know exactly what to start doing on a regular basis to begin to alter our appearance in the direction we seek.

There are a handful of books and programs on the market that teach various strategies for facial transformation through facial exercising. Some involve additional products, (lotions, creams, vitamins, etc) and others have expansive training modules with video, diet and exercise recommendations, and some even have support groups or ongoing coaching. The bottom line is that any of their strategies – once learned – can be done for no additional expense and in any location, even while driving or sitting in front of your computer.

It seems to this writer than the hands down best choice for changing ones appearance for the better is the more healthy, more natural and less expensive approach obtained by learning and doing regular daily facial exercises. In the long-run, the results of actually toning and developing facial musculature will have longer lasting and more beautiful results, then tying up a bunch of skin behind the ears or hoping all the fat gets sucked out of the chin without leaving it lop-sided – but that’s just me. Where do you think you stand in the debate?
