Many of us advise you that losing pounds is easy. You’ll hear it all the time. You’ll see it all the time. Look at me, I’ve lost 30lbs and in only sixty days! Wow, you assert to yourself, if only I could do that. You choose to research what the person did. A few shakes here and there, a restriction of calories, stop eating your favorite foods, and the list keeps going. Fundamentally the message is this, cut back your calories, and change your lifestyle habits. Truly, ask yourself, how easy is that. In principle, it’s simple, but lets look why it is not easy!

First, reducing calories might mean skipping out on your favourite soda pop you like everyday at lunch hour. You know the one. It’s packed with caffeine and sugar and gives you that boost. It makes lunch break the high spot of your long and nerve wracking day. Cutting it out may be easy. Just don’t pack one for the day. How hard is that? But are you able to imagine lunch without it? What will your afternoon be like? Will your sandwich taste the same? Will work be more difficult? Will you become cantankerous and grouchy?

It is the emotional reactions to the dietary limitation that cause difficulty. And, No expert can tell you how cutting out your favourite foods will make your react. In reality, not only are they able to not predict how you will respond, but no diet ever concentrates on how you can prepare yourself to address the changes, or in simpler terms, the way to cope!

One of the finest ways to conform to change is to do it gradually. Only change one habit at a time. Write down the emotional changes, how you’re feeling, and how you are responding to the change. Label your emotions and learn from them. This can help you adapt to each dietary / lifestyle habit change quicker.

To conclude, reducing calories and shedding weight is an easy idea, but it is’s only an idea. No diet ever accounts for the profusion of feelings associated with the dramatic change or regime one undertakes. Prepare yourself emotionally and the journey will be less complicated, but no less tricky
